Make the application work

First of all the soundcard should be visible. In Windows 7, it can be that the sound card is hidden and disabled
To change this
  1. Open the Control Panel.
controlpanel.png
  1. Click on the Sound icon.

  1. Right click on a empty area in the recording tab and click on Show Disabled Devices
  2. Enable your soundcard device

It is possible that the soundcard is not visible. In that case you should install the original drivers and not the default windows drivers

Further, .net framework 4.5 should be installed (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653)

Possible issues

At the moment the stream is id first recorded as wav and later after that converted into MP3.
For larger recordings and slow computers this can be an issue.

Further developement depends on the interest in the application

I had issues with the software converting a song to mp3 in the output folder. I had to uncheck / turn off the 'Skip songs below threshold' setting. When that was enabled, none of the songs would save. When it was disabled, everything functioned as normal.

I think you can use this http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm if you don't have a stereo mix capable sound card.

I am having trouble too so I am wondering if this application is still working. I am using Win7 with a Realtek sound card. I have the recording set to STEREO MIX as default and I can see the sound bars in the Stereo Mixer in Spotify Recorder. I hear sound through the speakers. I can not get it to record anything. I had it working briefly but then lost it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sound card as well as disabled and enabled it, rebooting the machine each time. I am very confused as to what I should do next. This seems like a great application if I could get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Respond here and directly to rx21825@gmail.com please.

Hi,
I followed your instructions but I still get no sound in the mp3.
Here is a screenshot of record devices.

My tests :
- If I choose my microphone in your application, I get my voice in the MP3
- When I play spotify, there is no green light on the record device (see screenshot)

Can you answer here or on nicolas.thery at gmail dot com ?

Hallo, I downloaded the SpotifyRecorder - it records the songs from Spotify but after recording and playing the mp3 file there is no sound.
I found out that there is no stereo mixer our sound capturing device (drivers) available. my notebook is a sony with windows 7 (64bit version) , NVDIA HD Audio and the realtek HD Audio device. I tested the programm audials (demo) and found the audials sound capturing device in the device manager. the streamed songs where correctly recorded and even sound was there.
My question is where can i find and how to install audio capturing drivers.

thanks for the help
sorry for my bad english
